MBH is a full-service engineering and contracting firm for numerous industries. We perform detailed engineering and construction for all facets of work. It is important to note that MBH self-performs 95% of this work. We do not subcontract primary disciplines of work. Our own labor forces perform disciplines such as design, civil, and electrical. By self-performing these disciplines MBH has control over scheduling and costing for projects.
The procedures that we follow concerning project management administration vary greatly and depend upon the type, complexity, schedule and size of a project. There are two guidelines which we follow every time. MBH always assigns a separate project manager skilled in their particular discipline for each area that might be involved on a job whether it is electromechanical or civil. A lead project manager is assigned to be the sole contact with the owner on multidiscipline jobs.
Project managers are based at our main office and make weekly trips or more, if necessary, to the job site to assist in coordinating construction activities by checking on progress, safety, quality, schedule and costs. We can, and have, placed project managers on-site on a full-time basis, but do not feel that this practice is normally required.
We feel that our project managers further the needs of the project at the home office where they can have immediate access to control engineering, procurement, expediting, billing, etc. The project managers are in daily contact with their site superintendents.
MBH's skilled field personnel play a critical part in maintaining high productivity levels on every project. Superintendents perform a vital role in controlling all aspects of the day-to-day operations at the job site. All general foremen, timekeepers, material expediters or other personnel report directly to the superintendent. The general foremen that we utilize on our projects are all company men. We do not use personnel that we are unfamiliar with in these roles.
MBH Power Ltd has been "working as partners" with numerous industries in providing cost-effective engineering and construction services as part of their investments in new facilities as well as expansion, modernization & rehabilitation projects and installations. |
